Common Korean Last Names (Please don’t be offended if your last name is not a part of this) The cursive is how it is written/said in English and the typed words are the romanizations of the characters (last names).
SORRY I MADE A MISTAKE. CHOI IS “최”!

Conversation #2 - Asking for directions
  • #1: 저기요, 지하쳘역은 어디쪽이에요? (Jeo-gi-yo, ji-ha-cheol-yeok-eun eo-di-jjok-ii-ehyo?) [Excuse me, where is the subway station?]
  • #2: 아. 저기 편이점보이죠? 거기서 오른쪽으로 돌면돼요. 그다음에 신호등이보일때까지 걸어서 왼쪽으로 돌아가면 바로 나와요. (Ah. Jeo-gi pyun-ii-jeom bo-ii-jeo? Geo-gi-seo oreun-jjok-eu-loh dol-myeon-dwae-yo. After, walk until you see a traffic light, and turn left. (The subway station is) right there.]
  • #1: 아 네... 감사함니다! (Ah neh... kam-sa-ham-nida!) [Ah... Yes... Thank you!]

Lovebirds | 닭살 커플 | dak-sal couple

This is an INFORMAL word. 닭살 (dak-sal) means “goosebumps” and the word 닭살 커플 (dak-sal couple) literally means “goosebump couple”. This is used to describe couples that are really really lovey dovey towards each other and it makes you kind of cringe. It’s usually used by friends to tease each other. You would NOT use it to go “Awww. Look at those two lovebirds.” You’d most likely to use it to say in a sarcastic tone, “You guys are such lovebirds.”
